Designed as a labyrinth, the experience invites visitors to chart their own course through a series of rooms inspired by Burton’s creative universe, encountering original artworks alongside characters, environments and imagery from his films.
Through original artworks, technology, light, sound and scenography, the exhibition brings Burton’s worlds to life in unexpected and atmospheric ways. Burton has described it as his “fun house”, likening it to stepping inside his mind. More than 150 original artworks from his personal archive sit alongside some of his most beloved characters and settings, from Beetlejuice and Batman to Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride, Sweeney Todd and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Every visit is different, with each visitor choosing their own path through Burton’s imagination. The exhibition has travelled to Spain, France, Belgium, Germany, Italy and Mexico, and has welcomed more than 1.3 million visitors.
